With an aging US Fleet of Gas Turbine installations, it is very important to inspect the condition on a regular cycle. Often the Exhaust Stack liner outlives the exhaust silencer baffles and can be replaced. With frequent inspections, and sometimes minor repairs, the lifetime of the exhaust stack can be greatly extended. Schock has made an effort to listen to our field crews and customers, and develop safe, efficient ways to upgrade during minimum outage durations. Schock has performed hundreds of Silencer panel upgrades, liner repairs, and complete exhaust stack replacements.
We have learned through experience, when designing liner, silencer, and even turning vane systems internal to the exhaust unit, having an extremely robust design is the safest approach. Too many times we see inferior designs prematurely fail.
